Pastor Paul Hazelton has been serving as our pastor since March 2004. He preached his first message on Palm Sunday that year. They have been married since May 26, 1979. They have two grown children. Matthew Paul, who lives in Pennsylvania and Laura Bethany (Hazelton) McCray, who lives in Pickens Chapel with her son, Gregory Michael (also Pastor Paul and Jacki’s first grandchild, and only for the moment).
Pastor Paul went to Mount Vernon Nazarene College and graduated in 1981. He has served in the Nazarene church ever since. While still in college he worked as an associate pastor in charge of the youth at the Cardington, Ohio Church of the Nazarene. He was the author of a book regarding revitalizing small-town churches which was published in 1993. He has pastored in Hicksville, Ohio; Tallmadge, Ohio; Bellaire, Ohio; Montpelier, Indiana; Akron, Ohio; LaMoure, North Dakota; Uhrichsville, Ohio; Aberdeen, South Dakota; and Allison, Pennsylvania. He was ordained in 1985 while serving on the Akron, Ohio District.
